Unable to select play.still shows playing now

So it looks like the Blizzard Desktop Application is sending the launch command to the game and it is seeing that the command was received but the game itself is not fully or otherwise properly loading.

There are a few potential causes that might prevent the game from properly launching or at least displaying on screen. (Sometimes the game does launch, can be seen in running processes but is being blocked or otherwise interfered with so it doesn’t actually display on screen.) We see this sometimes with various games and it usually indicates something on the system is interfering with the game.

This would be unrelated with any service outages or connection issues (as the game should still launch and display, just not be able to connect.

Make sure your OS and GPU drivers are all updated, preferably from the maker of the GPU (Nvidia or AMD)

Then temporarily remove unneeded software from the system and retry the launch. (Example programs would be from ASUS, ACER, Alienware, gigabyte, msi, razer, geforce experience, hp omen command center, corsair etc…) none of these are necessary for system function, most just add enhancements to allow you more control over the system and many try to be helpful by “optimizing” your games for you which can cause conflicts like this.
