200-300 ping from US to Americas server
Hey there,
You can’t always trust where an IP address shows up as registered to, because those are set based on where the IP was registered and not where it’s physically located. That particular hop may be registered in Netherlands but it is physically located in Los Angeles.
Notice how the latency goes back down to around 40ms on the hops afterwards. This indicates that high latency is a non-issue and is just showing up that way due to how that router is configured. If the latency were a problem there it would remain high on the hops after it.
I’d recommend running a WinMTR test in the background while you play since WinMTR shows more detail than traceroute.
- Download WinMTR
- Right-click on the downloaded .zip folder and select “Extract All”, to extract the files to a new folder.
- Open the new folder that was created, then open the WinMTR_x64 folder.
- Right-click on the WinMTR application and select “Run as administrator”.
- Type the IP address 137.221.106.88 in the “Host” field.
- Click on “Start” and then launch the game. Allow the test to run for at least 10 minutes. Click on “Stop” when you’re done playing after you have experienced the latency or connection issue.
- Click on “Copy Text to Clipboard”, paste the results here, then highlight everything and hit the </> button in the posting section so it will allow links.
