Need to know where the game connects to, to troubleshoot lag
Hey there Slayer,
The IP addresses listed in the support article are just generic hosts that are in the same data center that the game servers would be located in. So they aren’t the actual hosts that your game is connecting to. The IP addresses the client connects to can change and aren’t static.
You can use the Windows Resource Monitor to easily find out which IP addresses and ports an application is connecting to. Search in Windows for Resource Monitor and open that up, or you can also get to it from Task Manager → Performance tab → Click Open Resource Monitor at the bottom.
After launching the game go to the Resource Monitor and in the “Processes with Network Activity” section check the box next to D2R.exe to filter by the game application. In the TCP Connections section you’ll be able to see the destination IP addresses and ports.
The game uses a combination of Blizzard servers and Google Cloud servers to connect.
Hope that helps!
