Attacks all adjacent targets.
Fend is a level 24 Amazon attack (Javelin and Spear tree, requires Impale; it unlocks nothing). One click is a sequence of javelin or spear thrusts, one at each enemy within melee range, up to twelve of them. The numbers that decide it are the damage, +260% at level 20, and the target cap of 12, which never moves.

ln34: Param3 is the baseline of 70 and Param4 adds 10 a level, so +70% at level 1, +110% at 5, +160% at 10, +210% at 15, +260% at 20, +360% at 30. The Basin's page writes it as 60 + 10 × slvl and its table matches. Each thrust carries 100% of weapon damage before that (SrcDam 128), and nothing is converted (calc4 0).The damage and attack-rating lines read lvl, so +skills from items raise both in full.
Fend is a melee attack sequence: by the Basin's page, up to 12 targets within melee range are each attacked once, with a separate Chance to Hit roll per thrust, and each hit deals weapon damage with the bonus above under Dealing Physical Damage; Leech and the weapon's on-hit modifiers apply to every hit. The speed of the sequence follows the Amazon's attack rate, see Attack Speed; the Basin's page records that Diablo II: Resurrected patch 2.4 made it "100% faster" by reducing the rollback frames between the attacks, which is the Param2 above.
The Basin's page says that once the first thrust has been made, the sequence is not interrupted by blocking, casting, hit recovery, knockback or stun. It also records that in the 1.10–1.13 game Dodge and Avoid did interrupt it, stopping the sequence where the dodge happened and, when attacking continuously, making the next sequence miss; the same page says this was fixed in Diablo II: Resurrected.
Fend has no missile, no radius beyond melee reach and no element. One enemy in range means one thrust; the skill pays for itself when the Amazon is surrounded.
No synergies: the row has no SymPerCalc column, the skilldesc row has no dsc3 line, and no skill reads Fend's points. Both lines read lvl, so a +skill from an item is worth exactly a hard point; it is the last skill of the spear side of the tree, so nothing is gated behind it.
A player's hit on another player is cut to 17% of its value (difficultylevels.txt PlayerDamagePercentVSPlayer) before anything else, see Player versus Player; each thrust is a separate hit and is cut on its own. The Basin's page says nothing more about this skill against players.
Written from the game's tables (build 3.3.93847) and the cited pages; a per-level table is computed from skills.txt and skilldesc.txt by the same evaluator the skill pages use. A “legacy rule” is a published engine rule no table proves; a “game table” is read from the table named. · Report incorrect data
