D2R Doesn't launch. Black screen then exits
Hey there,
So the log line you listed is pointing to a failure to initialize nvidia related direct3d API/driver
The directx you ran however only shows an Intel Iris GPU. Nothing for Nvidia.
So if you don’t have a mobile nvidia gpu on this laptop, that would make sense and wouldn’t necessarily indicate an issue.
However, Integrated GPU’s are not really supported. You need a discrete or desktop level GPU for the game. Some integrated GPU’s (particularly the newer ones) may function but it is going to be hit or miss.
Now if your laptop does actually have a discrete Nvidia GPU in it, then it is not showing up properly in the dxdiag. That could indicate a larger driver or os issue with how your system is utilizing the integrated and discrete GPUs. In that case it would be worth reinstalling drivers for both the intel and nvidia gpu’s (from intel and nvidia, do not rely on Windows update or 3rd party driver programs to do this)
Then check the nvidia control panel and make sure it is set to use the nvidia gpu for your games instead of the intel. Also check your power settings to make sure that the system is not attempting to throttle performance to prolong battery life which would force you to only use the intel gpu which is not supported.
Now if the intel gpu is indeed the only gpu you have, then I can only tell you that being able to play will be hit or miss. It is not a supported GPU for the game and you are likely to continue encountering issues while trying to play. If you even can.
If that is the case and you do not have another system that does meet the requirements, then I would suggest looking into a potential refund:
