Summon a wolf that becomes enraged, eating corpses to increase damage it does to enemies.
Summon Dire Wolf is the Druid's level 18 wolf (Summoning tree), requiring Oak Sage and Summon Spirit Wolf; it unlocks Summon Grizzly. The table calls it "Summon Fenris". Each cast adds one wolf to a pack of at most three. The dire wolf is the tough wolf: physical damage of 7–12 at level 1 and 85–109 at level 20, a life line of +50% a level, and a rage after eating a corpse that doubles its damage for 20 seconds.

min(lvl, Param3) with Param3 = 3. Mana is a flat 20.min(Param8 × lvl, 85) to fire, cold, lightning and poison, 5% a level, capped at 85 from level 17.Every line reads lvl, so +skills from items raise the pack, the bite and the passives; the Basin adds that the passive bonuses are fixed at the level the wolf was summoned.
A dire wolf is a melee pet that rolls its attack rating against the target's defense (Chance to Hit) and deals physical damage on a hit, so it goes through Dealing Physical Damage and the target's physical resistance. The Basin's page: after eating a corpse the wolf enters a rage of +100% damage for 20 seconds; the wolves teleport to you when too far away, can be put into hit recovery and knocked back (item knockback at a 50% chance), can open doors, have 5% chance of critical damage and 100% drain effectiveness. The row carries item_pierce_damage_immunity, which lets the caster's Monster Physical Immunity is Sundered apply to the bite. Since D2R patch 2.4 the Basin notes all three pet types can be out together.
The rage needs a corpse: the wolves fight at base damage until something dies, and they compete for the same corpses as your vines.
Received, all reading the other skill's lvl so +skills count:
Given: Dire Wolf's Param2 (15) × level is the life term of Spirit Wolves and the Grizzly, and its hard points are +12% damage each to Raven. The life synergy it gives is why a Grizzly build keeps points here.
The Basin's page says nothing about Dire Wolves against players. A player's own hit on another player is cut to 17% (difficultylevels.txt PlayerDamagePercentVSPlayer), see Player versus Player; the wolves are pets and the page adds no rule for them.
Written from the game's tables (build 3.3.93847) and the cited pages; a per-level table is computed from skills.txt and skilldesc.txt by the same evaluator the skill pages use. A “legacy rule” is a published engine rule no table proves; a “game table” is read from the table named. · Report incorrect data
