Use on the corpse of a slain monster to find hidden treasures.
Find Item is a Barbarian Warcry (level 12, requires Find Potion, unlocks Grim Ward). Cast on a corpse next to you for 7 mana, it rolls once to make that corpse drop again: 13% at level 1, 32% at level 5, 51% at level 20, on a curve that flattens toward 60% and only gets there at level 60. Every hard point in Find Potion adds a flat 1% on top. The roll is the whole skill; what makes it worth the points is the Basin's rule that a success ignores NoDrop and gives the monster's full count of picks.

Chance is read at 0 points in Find Potion.
Mana is 7 at every level (mana 7, lvlmana 0). The chance is calc1, a diminishing-returns curve from skills.txt Param1 (5, "% chance to find any item Min") toward Param2 (60, "% chance to find any item Max"), plus Param8 (1) for every hard point in Find Potion: with no Find Potion it is 13% at level 1, 32% at level 5, 42% at level 10, 47% at level 15, 51% at level 20, 53% at level 25 and 55% at level 30. The Basin's page writes the curve as min(5 + [55 × [(110 × slvl) ÷ (slvl + 6)] ÷ 100], 60) and its table reaches 60 at level 60; it marks the Find Potion term as Resurrected's, and the table's calc confirms it. The curve reads lvl, so +skills from items count, but at level 20 a +skill is worth less than one percent; the synergy reads blvl, hard points only. The row also carries Param3 (30, "% chance for high quality item") and Param4 (5, "% chance for magic item"), which the tooltip does not print and the Basin's page does not describe.
chance = curve(level, 5 → 60) + 1 × Find Potion hard points
The Basin's page gives the rules. You must be adjacent to the corpse, though you do not need to have it selected, and the cast uses cast rate. On a success the corpse drops as if the monster had died again, with one difference that is the reason for the skill: Find Item ignores NoDrop, so a successful cast always drops the maximum number of picks for that monster's treasure class. The Basin's example is the Travincal council: a council member has 3 picks, so a successful Find Item on one always drops 3 items, never 0 to 3.
The chance curve is front-loaded and the synergy is flat: the fifth point buys 32%, the twentieth 51%, and twenty Find Potion points buy 20 more. Past level 20 a +skill adds under one percent.
A corpse that cannot be searched by Find Potion cannot be searched by Find Item either; the Basin's list of corpses without flesh or bones is on the Find Potion page.
One synergy: +1% chance per hard point in Find Potion (the dsc3 line, Param8), read as blvl, so +skills on gear do not add to it. Find Item feeds nothing. Its own curve reads lvl, so a +skill from an item moves it a step along the curve: worth about three percent at level 1, under one percent at level 20. The Basin's page says +1–3 Find Item can spawn on a primal helm of item level 19 or higher, and that Heart Carver gives +4.
Find Item never touches a player; it is cast on a corpse and only produces a drop. There is nothing here for the player-versus-player rule to cut, see Player versus Player.
