Passive: improves throwing weapon skill.
Throwing Mastery is a Barbarian Mastery (level 6, no prerequisites, passive, no mana). When a javelin, throwing axe or throwing knife is thrown it adds attack rating, damage and a critical hit like the melee masteries, and in Resurrected three more things the Basin marks as new: a chance to pierce, a chance not to consume the weapon, and a refill of the stack on a critical hit. At level 20 that is +196% attack rating, +123% damage, a 29% critical, 46% pierce and 55% not consumed.

The attack-rating bonus is skills.txt Param1 (44) plus Param2 (8) a level: +44% at level 1, +196% at level 20, +276% at level 30; the Basin's page gives the original game's 30% base and marks 44 as Resurrected's. The damage bonus is Param3 (28) plus Param4 (5) a level: +28% at level 1, +123% at level 20.
The critical chance runs on a diminishing-returns curve from Param5 (0) toward Param6 (35): 5% at level 1, 29% at level 20, 31% at level 30, and the Basin's table has it reach 35% at level 60. The pierce chance runs on the same curve from Param7 (0) toward Param8 (55): 8% at level 1, 46% at level 20, 50% at level 30. The chance not to consume quantity runs from Param9 (0) toward Param10 (66); the tooltip's term for it is one the repo's evaluator cannot compute, so its numbers are the Basin's: 9% at level 1, 33% at level 5, 44% at level 10, 51% at level 15, 55% at level 20. Replenish quantity on a critical hit is Param11, a switch set to 1: on. All the lines read lvl, so +skills from items count. There is no mana and no duration.
The bonuses are added through the row's passive stats whenever a throwing weapon is thrown (passive_mastery_throw_th, passive_mastery_throw_dmg, passive_mastery_throw_crit, skill_pierce, passive_mastery_noconsume, passive_mastery_replenish_oncrit). The attack rating goes into Chance to Hit, the damage joins your other Enhanced Damage, and on each hit that lands the critical is rolled: the Basin's page says it doubles the physical damage of the attack. A thrown weapon that pierces goes on to the next target, see Piercing Attack; a throw that is not consumed leaves the stack as it was; and a critical hit refills the stack, see Replenishes Quantity.
The mastery applies only when the weapon is thrown. The Basin's page says a javelin in melee uses Spear Mastery, a throwing axe Axe Mastery and, in Resurrected, a throwing knife Blade Mastery; a weapon never benefits from both masteries at once.
Mastery critical, Critical Strike and Deadly Strike are mutually exclusive: the Basin's page says if one succeeds the others are not rolled, so the chances do not add. Two sources combine as 100 − (100 − DS) × (100 − MCS) ÷ 100.
The Basin's page also records that the mastery's +% damage is applied twice when a single weapon is thrown, and that the critical's overlay can be hidden by others, which started the myth that poison damage stops it.
No synergies: a mastery has no dsc3 line and no synergy calc, nothing feeds it and it feeds nothing. Its lines read lvl, so a +skill from an item is worth exactly a hard point: +8% attack rating, +5% damage and a step along the critical, pierce and no-consume curves. Double Throw is the attack that uses it twice a sequence.
A mastery never touches a player; its bonuses ride on the thrown weapon's hit, and a player's hit on another player is cut to 17% of its value (difficultylevels.txt PlayerDamagePercentVSPlayer) before anything else, see Player versus Player. Pierce and the quantity rules are not damage and are not cut.
Written from the game's tables (build 3.3.93847) and the cited pages; a per-level table is computed from skills.txt and skilldesc.txt by the same evaluator the skill pages use. A “legacy rule” is a published engine rule no table proves; a “game table” is read from the table named. · Report incorrect data
