When active, aura increases mana recovery for you and your party.
Meditation is the Paladin's level 24 Defensive Aura; it requires Cleansing and opens nothing. While it is the active aura, you and every ally in range regenerate mana faster, and everyone in range is healed for whatever your Prayer would heal. One number decides it: the regeneration bonus, +300% at level 1 and +775% at level 20, with no cap.

The regeneration line is the row's ln34: Param3 300 ("Mana Recovery % baseline") plus Param4 25 a level ("Mana Recovery % per level"), so +300% at level 1, +400% at 5, +525% at 10, +650% at 15, +775% at 20 and +1,025% at 30, and it keeps climbing at 25 a level for as long as +skills push it. The Basin's older formula, 275 + 25 × slvl, gives the same numbers. The radius is Param1 16 plus Param2 2 a level, times two thirds: 10 2/3 yards at level 1 and 36 at 20. The aura costs no mana. Both lines read lvl, so +skills and the level of an Aura When Equipped item count in full.
The tooltip's third line is "Life Healed Every 2 Seconds" at skill('Prayer'.edmn): Prayer's heal, not a number of Meditation's own, which is why it is not in the table. It is 0 with no Prayer, 2 at Prayer level 1 and 25 at Prayer level 20; the full ladder is on Prayer.
Meditation is an aura with the row's meditation state on the caster and on every ally in range, refreshed every two seconds (perdelay 50). It has no hit check and no damage. Its stats are manarecoverybonus at ln34 and hitpoints at skill('Prayer'.edns), Prayer's heal carried whole. How a regeneration percentage turns into mana a second is the rule on Regenerate Mana; the pool it refills is set by Energy and Mana.
The Basin's page sets out the heal: it is applied to the supplier and to allied players once every two seconds, and does not apply to mercenaries and pets, since they do not use mana. It adds to the healing of Prayer and Cleansing auras, but among several Meditations only equal-level auras add; otherwise only the highest-level Meditation heals.
The percentage is to regeneration, not to mana: a character with a small pool still gets a small number of mana a second from it.
The Basin lists the Insight runeword as an aura-when-equipped source at level 12–17, on polearms and staves and, in the current game, on missile weapons, and +1–3 Meditation can spawn on Paladin scepters.
Meditation has one synergy line, and it is unusual: "Prayer: Life Healed Every 2 Seconds" reads Prayer's heal at Prayer's level (skill('Prayer'.edmn); the Basin writes it as Prayer.lvl), so +skills that raise Prayer raise the heal inside Meditation. Meditation feeds no other skill. Its own lines read lvl, so a +skill from gear, or the level of an Insight, is worth exactly a hard point.
Meditation deals no damage and is applied only to you and your party, so the player-versus-player rule has nothing to act on; see Player versus Player.
