Summon shadowy chains that emit a suffocating miasma between you and the target.
Miasma Chain is a Warlock magic attack (Chaos Skills, level 12, requires Miasma Bolt, unlocks Enhanced Entropy); the table's key for it is "Miasma Chains". It casts the miasmachainsmaker missile, which lays chains from you to the target and spawns miasma bolts along them, each with the row's magic damage and each leaving the miasmachainscloud miasma. The numbers that decide it are the bolt count, 10 at level 20, and each bolt's hit, 56–59 magic damage at level 20.

dm34, the table's "number of miasma bolts spawned": a diminishing curve from Param3 (3, "baseline number of miasmabolts") toward Param4 (12, "cap for number of miasma bolts made"): 4 bolts at level 1, 8 at level 7, 9 at level 10, 10 from level 15 and 11 from level 26, each level past 20 adding less.min(5 + lvl ÷ 4, 10): 5 chains at level 1, 6 at level 5, 7 at level 10, 8 at level 15 and 10 from level 20, where the cap holds.miasmachainscloud row of missiles.txt rather than this skill's row: its average magic damage per second, its duration and its radius. The duration line is the cloud's own length plus Enhanced Entropy's level times a cloud parameter, capped at 100 frames (4 seconds); Enhanced Entropy's own tooltip prints that bonus as 0.2 seconds a level, 4 seconds at level 20, and the Miasma radius as 2 yards at Enhanced Entropy level 1, 3 from level 5 and 4 from level 10.auralencalc is 125 frames (5 seconds) and names no aura state; the tooltip has a line that reads a calc1 the row does not fill, so it prints nothing. The damage, the bolt count and the chain count read lvl, so +skills from items count; the synergy terms read blvl.
The cast is a missile, miasmachainsmaker, that builds the chains; the damage is done by the miasma bolts it spawns, each a magic hit (EType mag) that goes through the target's magic resistance and nothing else, see Dealing Elemental Damage. The row has no ToHit, no SrcDam and no attack rating: the bolts always hit what they touch and carry none of your weapon's damage. The miasma they leave is the cloud missile, the entropy that Enhanced Entropy widens and lengthens; the row itself names no aura state, periodic column or summon.
The bolts' damage is the table's; the cloud's damage per second, which the synergies raise by +20% per hard point, is on the missile row and not on this page.
Two synergies, each with two lines: Miasma Bolt and Abyss add +10% magic damage per hard point to the bolts (Param8, EDmgSymPerCalc) and +20% average magic damage per second per hard point to the cloud (Param9). Both read blvl. Miasma Chain in turn gives +10% magic damage and +20% average magic damage per second per hard point to Miasma Bolt, and +10% of each to Abyss (that row's Param8). Enhanced Entropy is the passive that lengthens and widens the cloud; it is not a synergy line on this row.
A player's hit on another player is cut to 17% of its value (difficultylevels.txt PlayerDamagePercentVSPlayer) before anything else, see Player versus Player; each bolt's magic damage is cut the same way. The table has no separate player value for the cloud.
Written from the game's tables (build 3.3.93847) and the cited pages; a per-level table is computed from skills.txt and skilldesc.txt by the same evaluator the skill pages use. A “legacy rule” is a published engine rule no table proves; a “game table” is read from the table named. · Report incorrect data
