Passive - chance to block when you are using dual claw class weapons.
Weapon Block is the Assassin's passive block (Shadow Disciplines, level 12, requires Claw Mastery; it unlocks Shadow Warrior). It costs no mana and is never cast: while a claw is in each hand (the row requires item type "h2h" in both weapon slots) she gets a chance to block attacks as if she carried a shield. One number decides it, the block chance, 26% with one point and 57% at level 20, and one rule: nothing but the skill's level moves it.

The chance is the row's one passive stat, running from Param1 (20%) toward Param2 (65%) on the game's diminishing curve (passivecalc1 dm12): 26% at level 1, 42% at 5, 50% at 10, 55% at 15, 57% at level 20 and 60% at 30; the Basin's table shows it reaching 65% only at level 60. It reads lvl, so +skills count. There is no mana line and nothing else on the tooltip.
Weapon Block is a passive state ("weaponblock") that gives the Assassin a block roll without a shield. The Basin's page sets the rules the tables do not: the chance is the skill's and only the skill's — neither Dexterity nor Increased Chance of Blocking from items raises it, unlike a shield's chance on Blocking. It applies only while the Assassin is standing still, whether idle, attacking or casting, and while using Whirlwind; a moving Assassin does not block. The block animation is the same length as a shield's and Faster Block Rate shortens it, though the Basin notes a Guardian Angel's 30% takes it from 5 frames to 4 only.
The Basin says it blocks missiles, melee and ranged attacks, but lists what it does not stop: charging Claw Vipers and the Reanimated Horde; Attacker Takes Damage and the lightning version; damage returned by Thorns, Iron Maiden, Iron Golem and Spirit of Barbs; Psychic Hammer and Mind Blast; Corpse Explosion, Death Sentry's and Nihlathak's explosions; the radial damage of Holy Fire, Holy Freeze and Holy Shock; Static Field; Telekinesis; and Shiver Armor's cold.
The Basin says a fire stream's damage per second is blocked, but since it lands every frame from several missiles, blocking thins it rather than stopping it; the same goes for the many clouds of Poison Explosion or Plague Javelin, where one unblocked cloud applies the full poison length.
The Basin also notes it is not applied consistently against a Paladin's Smite, and does not apply while the Assassin is in Werebear form.
No synergies: nothing raises Weapon Block and it raises nothing. The one line reads lvl, so +skills from items and the Shadow Disciplines tab count in full, and the curve is flat enough past level 10 that they are where most Assassins get their last few points of block.
Weapon Block rolls against a player's attack exactly as against a monster's; the player-versus-player damage rule is a cut to what gets through, not to the block chance, see Player versus Player and Blocking. The Basin's page says nothing else specific about players.
Written from the game's tables (build 3.3.93847) and the cited pages; a per-level table is computed from skills.txt and skilldesc.txt by the same evaluator the skill pages use. A “legacy rule” is a published engine rule no table proves; a “game table” is read from the table named. · Report incorrect data
